Difference between Web Design and other Design

Different Constraints:

• Limited resolution (72-96 dpi)
• Bandwidth issues (How long will the pages take to download?  Keep imagery simple.)
• Viewed on screen (author for 640X480 without left and right scrolling)

Different Advantages:

• Added functionality (How will links, etc. be incorporated into the design?)
• Changes and updates possible (Does your design have flexibility?)

Structuring the Site

• Identify all content (even future content)
• Divide content into sections
• Develop a site map
• Account for linking to all major sections from any given page
• Establish a navigation system that lets the user know what section they are in
• Allow users to quickly get the information they want
